We give our customers unmatched control and choice through a broad and trusted application cloud, coupled with expert support, enabling them to focus on creating great applications instead of managing their platform.

Thousands of customers in 58 countries run on Engine Yard, from explosive-growth Web startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. We’re backed by some of the most innovative venture capital firms and cloud pioneers including Benchmark Capital, New Enterprise Associates, Oracle and Amazon.

Why we do what we do

We started Engine Yard in 2006 to meet a genuine need—developers were building business-critical Ruby on Rails applications but didn’t want to worry about application deployment, management and scaling. We created our cloud orchestration platform to address this need. With deep roots in the developer community, we’ve expanded over the years to work with a broader range of applications without forgetting where we came from. Take a more in-depth look at why we do what we do.

Our people are passionate about empowering developers and DevOps, enjoy what they do and love working as part of a fast-moving, dynamic team. We’re committed to open source technology, utilizing it on a daily basis and continually contributing to its development.

Where We Are

We’re headquartered in San Francisco, California, with offices in Portland, Oregon; Tokyo, Japan; and Dublin, Ireland. We also have teams located across the United States and around the world.
