Engine Yard Appoints Paul Melmon as Senior Vice President of Engineering

SAN FRANCISCO – April 3, 2014 – Engine Yard, the leading cloud application management platform, announced that Paul Melmon, who brings more than 20 years of innovative product development experience, has joined the company as senior vice president of Engineering. In this role, Melmon will lead the engineering organization at Engine Yard, as the company continues to build the best platform for companies to deploy, scale and monitor their applications in the public and private cloud.

Melmon has held technical leadership roles at high-growth startups and enterprise software companies. Most recently, he was entrepreneur in residence at Costanoa Venture Capital, an early stage investor in cloud-based services leveraging data and analytics. Prior to joining Costanoa, Melmon served as vice president of Engineering at NICE Systems and the company it acquired, Merced Systems. He also led engineering at Hyperic (acquired by SpringSource), and at Wily Technology Inc. (acquired by CA Technologies), where he helped create the application performance management product category. Earlier in his career, he was CIO of Pets.com and held engineering roles at HP, Sybase and Scopus Technology Inc. Melmon earned a Bachelor degree in Science and Math from the University of California, Davis.
