Engine Yard Selected by AlwaysOn as an OnDemand Top 100 Winner

Engine Yard Selected by AlwaysOn as an OnDemand Top 100 Winner SAN FRANCISCO, April 22, 2010 – Engine Yard, the leading cloud computing platform for Ruby on Rails, today announced that it has been selected by AlwaysOn as one of the top cloud application platforms in the OnDemand 100. AlwaysOn, a leading independent research firm, selected Engine Yard based on a set of five criteria: Innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value and media buzz.

The inaugural OnDemand 100 award is given to private, emerging Internet companies disrupting the established enterprise and pioneering cloud computing and SaaS. The AlwaysOn editorial team, in collaboration with Morgan Stanley, KPMG and industry experts across the globe, conducted a rigorous selection process to identify the top 100 private companies included in the 2010 list.

"As the digital information created by businesses continues to explode at astronomical rates, the need to store, manage and share this information is becoming extremely challenging,” said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. “We congratulate this year’s OnDemand 100 for providing the technology platforms and services needed to manage and leverage this new era of information complexity and overload."

The OnDemand 100 recognition follows the success of Engine Yard tripling its cloud customer base over a six-month period, partnering with Terremark to deliver an Enterprise Cloud product, and the introduction of the first ever JRuby developer support offering.

Engine Yard and the 2010 OnDemand Top 100 will be recognized at an AlwaysOn-sponsored event on April 19, 2010 at Hewlett-Packard's worldwide headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. The full list of OnDemand Top 100 winners can be found on the AlwaysOn website at: www.alwayson.com
